For over 30 years, she made Chicago her home with her husband, Robert Reeves. Harriett was a dedicated seamstress and mother who found joy in family, sewing, and gardening. Her loving and nurturing nature was balanced by her straightforwardness, a quality that endeared her to many. After her husband’s passing, Harriett moved to Live Oak, Texas, to be closer to her sons, a testament to her deep love and unwavering commitment to family.

Harriett is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Reeves.

Harriett leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Her memory is cherished by her beloved sons, Frederick Cockrum and John Cockrum, who were the center of her world. Her grandson, Jonathon Cockrum, was a source of immense pride and joy. She is survived by her sister, Portia McNeill, and her brothers, Ulysses McNeill, Fletcher McNeill, and William Daniel McNeill, who shared a deep bond with her. In addition, Harriett is remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.
