Our Cremation Safeguards
For families choosing cremation, it’s important for you to know we offer only the highest level of care for your loved one.
Cremation allows for more choices than many families realize. We offer the widest range of service options and product options in the area. In addition, our Cremation Safeguards ensure peace of mind, when you need it most. Call today to talk with one of our caring staff at (210) 661-3991.
Onsite Cremation Facility
We own and operate our own crematory with licensed and certified staff. Many other funeral homes hire third party crematories. These often have multiple funeral homes transferring remains in and out at any given time. This makes it nearly impossible for those other funeral homes to manage and supervise the cremation as well as us.
Safeguarding Personal Identity
To ensure security, and eliminate the possibility of any error, we will place a personal identification band on your loved one at the moment your loved one is transferred to our care.
Our Unique Tracking System
Every person in our care is logged into our tracking system and assigned an identification number, which is stamped into a stainless-steel identification disc. This number is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Our tracking system includes date and time of arrival at our facility and name of the transfer technician. Personal belongings are cataloged and placed in a secure area for their return to the family.
Private Viewing Room
We will ask you, or a representative, to positively identify him or her prior to cremation in the casket or cremation container of your choice.
Our Cremation Process
Our high standards require that two individuals will review all cremation paperwork prior to cremation. This is to ensure authorizations have been received and have been properly documented. Once all documentation is verified, both staff members must sign the cremation order, prior to the cremation.
We record the name of your loved one, the date and time of the cremation, identification number, crematory operator’s name, as well as additional information regarding the cremation. Our crematory log is dated and the start time is noted and initialed by our cremation technician before and after the cremation.
The crematory documents, personal identification band and stainless-steel identification disc are placed on the outside of the cremation chamber during the cremation process.
After The Cremation
After the cremation is complete, the cremated remains are placed with the stainless steel identification disc into an urn. You will be presented with an official Certificate of Cremation when you receive the cremated remains that guarantees all the above steps have been followed.
If you have any questions about the cremation process, or if you would like to inspect our crematory, please do not hesitate to contact us at (210) 661-3991.

My mother-in-law arranged her cremation years ago with Meadowlawn. She passed last week in hospice in a nursing home in Fredericksburg. We are in another state and this whole thing has been seamless. Our interactions with Rachel at Meadowlawn have been professional, thorough and she has shown such kindness and empathy. Everything, and I mean everything, has been handled with the utmost care. I truly can’t say enough good about Meadowlawn and their staff. Families that need the services of a top-notch funeral home could not find a better one. Thank you Meadowlawn.
