Simona Mercado

Simona Mercado, 95, went to be with the Lord July 11, 2024. She was born February 11, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Guillermo Ramos and Juana Rodriguez. Simona was a loving mother, grandmother, great -grandmother , and great great grandmother. A homemaker all her life, her priority was always to make sure her kids were taken care of. She raised nine children, together with her beloved husband, and love making memories together. When she had time to herself, Simona enjoyed gardening and especially catching up on her novelas. Simona was also known for the best hugs, you could count on her to give you a big bear hug when she saw you and surround you with love. Especially when you brought her some Whataburger, tacos, or bill-millers. She loved sitting at the table just listening to music or to everyone’s conversations and laughter. 

Simona is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Seferino Mercado Sr.; sons, Jesse Mercado and Robert Mercado, daughter, Maria Luisa Vasquez and granddaughter, Simona Mercado. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Seferino (Mary Ann) Mercado Jr., John (Luisa) Mercado, Rosa (Jesus) Vallejo, Michael (Rebecca) Mercado, Felix (Christina) Mercado and Ralph (Yolanda) Mercado; 29 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren;  20 great great grandchildren ; extended family and friends.
