Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and dearest friend, Willie Mae Anthony, entered eternal rest on April 11, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to Manuel Gibbons and Lillie McIntyre on March 6, 1934 in Seguin, Texas.
Willie Mae accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was a devoted member at Antioch Baptist Church for many years, and served countless hours on the Usher Board as well. Aside from her faith, she was a dedicated wife, of many years until her husband’s departure. She was also a very nurturing mother, and loving grandmother. Willie Mae would always look forward to gathering with family and her close friends, as she most enjoyed the quality time and creating memories.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas and playing an exciting game of dominoes.
Although Willie Mae’s absence is deeply felt, we will continue to cherish the memories created during her presence.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents.
She is survived by her loving sons: Raymond Anthony (Joyce); and Herbert Anthony Sr. (Dorothy); grandchildren: Raymond Anthony III, Adriane Cupil (Tommy), Herbert Anthony Jr. (Anna), Elizabeth McKnight (Darryl), Mark Anthony (Tashala), Jessica Anthony, Mae Smith (Anthony), Stephen Anthony, and Lorenzo Anthony , all of whom affectionately called her “Grandma Mae, her sisters: Gussie Marie Smith, and Alice Gibbons; her brother: Tommy Gibbons; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other close relatives and friends.
