It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, and Abuelita, who went to be with the Lord on April 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 10, 1943, Patricia Rios Reyes lived a life filled with love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
A woman of remarkable warmth and kindness, Patricia was the heart and soul of her home. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where she shared her gift for cooking with everyone fortunate enough to sit at her table. Her homemade tortillas, spicy salsa, tamales, buñuelos, sweet capirotada and potato salad will forever be remembered — not only for their delicious flavor but for the love she poured into every dish.
Patricia was the glue that held the family together — the steady hand, the strong voice, the gentle heart and a courageous spirit that never faltered. Her love was unconditional, her strength unmatched, and her presence a source of peace. In her twilight years, Abuelita was blessed to have her granddaughter Denise Reyes by her side, a bond that grew stronger with every passing day. Denise’s role as her keeper was not just a duty but a labor of love, marked by compassion, patience, and selflessness. She provided the comfort and care that Abuelita needed, her dedication to her health became a pillar of support, ensuring her well-being and dignity until her final moments, a true guardian who honored her legacy.
More than anything in the world, she cherished the time spent with her family. Whether surrounded by laughter during Sunday meals or offering quiet comfort in times of need, she was always there — the backbone of the family, a guiding light, and an anchor in all seasons of life.
Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, bravery and kindness that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced in the arms of the Lord she faithfully served.
Patricia is preceded in death by both parents; Felix Rios and Patricia Arredondo Rios as well as her sister; Maria Luisa Tolentino. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of nearly sixty years, Amado R. Reyes Sr., and her five children, Alberto & Beatrice Reyes, Paul & Lisa Reyes, Amado & Elena Reyes Jr., Johnny & Diana Reyes, and Maria Isabel & Luis Fernandez. She is also survived by her two siblings Elvira Rios Palacios and Felix Rios. Her grandchildren; Albert Reyes Jr., Genevieve Reyes, Crystal Reyes, Alex Reyes, Kathy Reyes, Melissa Reyes-Barrientes, Stephanie Reyes-Staton, Paul Reyes Jr., Jessica Reyes-Olivarri, Kevin Reyes, Amado Reyes lll, Belinda Reyes, Johnny Reyes Jr., John Michael Reyes, Denise Reyes, Luis Sebastien R. Fernandez lll, and Marco Luciano R. Fernandez, as well as seventeen great grandchildren.
Patricia will be missed more than words can express, but her spirit will live on in the traditions she passed down, the love she gave so freely, and the memories we will forever cherish.
