In loving memory of Douglas Adam McGough

Doug McGough, aged 48, passed away on May 14, 2025 in San Antonio, TX. Doug was the son of Joseph and Cathy McGough of New Braunfels. Though his life was marked by struggle, those who truly knew him saw the good-hearted, hardworking man beneath the weight he carried.

Doug found meaning in work, and took pride in doing a job right. His dedication and strong work ethic were clear to anyone who worked alongside him. In turn, he was also fond of good humor, known for playing a prank or giving as good as he got. Doug also found purpose in being a dad when his children were young. He was unwaveringly loyal and dedicated to their upbringing in that season.

Addiction stole many moments from his life, but he will be remembered for more than just his struggles: his effort, his spirits, and the moments of light he gave to those around him.

He is preceded in death by his son, Adam, and his father Joe. He is survived by his daugher Julie McGough, sons Chance Peters and Jesse Peters, mother Cathy, sister Sherry, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. May he now rest in peace, free from the pain that weighed him down.
