Wolfgang Hans Roth, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 90. Surrounded by the love of his family, he will be remembered with love, and the joy and spirit he brought to their lives will forever live in their hearts.

Wolfgang was born on March 7, 1935, in Lochham, Munich, Germany to Johann Roth and Elisabeth Margarethe (Ruhl). In 1956, he came to the United States aboard the MS Berlin, arriving in New York City with his twin sister, Hella. The following year, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lackland AFB. He later enjoyed a long and fulfilling civil service career at Kelly AFB, where he retired.

Wolfgang enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, often spending time at his hunting cabin with friends. He maintained a lifelong passion for German and United States military history, reflected in his careful collection of rifles and handguns. He took great pride in designing and handcrafting wooden cases to display his pieces, blending his creativity with his passion. He also enjoyed collecting vintage coins, books, and military artifacts, a hobby he pursued throughout his life. During their 50 years of marriage, Wolfgang and his wife, Adela, shared a love of travel, visiting Europe and Canada together and creating cherished memories in Las Vegas.

Wolfgang was preceded in death by his parents, Johann Roth and Elisabeth Margarethe Hampel; his sister, Hella Spencer; his wife, Adela Lozano Roth; and his daughter, Doris Roth Peavler, and her husband, Charles, who passed away together. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Roth-Tellez, her husband, Nick, as well as his grandson, Donovan. Wolfgang treasured his time as Opa to his grandson, Donovan, filling his days with joy, pride, and fond memories of soccer, chess, and gardening, and he enjoyed the companionship of his loyal dog, Fenway.

A private memorial service and military honors will be held at a later date to bring family together, taking time to celebrate and honor his life.

The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Heart of Texas Hospice nursing staff. We are forever grateful for your love, compassion, and grace.
