Isaac R. Mermella

Mr. Isaac Rodriguez Mermella, age 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 25, 2026, in San Antonio.

He was born on January 10, 1937, in Floresville to Juan Mermella and Adela Mermella. Isaac lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family.

For over 50 years, Isaac worked as a truck driver, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for those he loved. Known for his warm spirit, he was a natural jokester who always had a smile to share. His friendly personality allowed him to make friends wherever he went, and he will be remembered for his laughter, generosity, and social nature.

Above all, Isaac cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia Mermella; his children, Julissa, Eduardo, Oswaldo, Isaac Jr., Gerardo, Kony, Ruben, Marisol, Diana, and Norma; 35 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Maria and Jesse.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Juan Jose Mermella.

Isaac’s legacy of love, humor, and hard work will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Nació el 10 de enero de 1937 en Floresville, hijo de Juan Mermella y Adela Mermella. Isaac vivió una vida marcada por la dedicación, la bondad y un profundo amor por su familia.

Durante más de 50 años trabajó como conductor de camiones, profesión que reflejaba su gran ética de trabajo y su compromiso de proveer para sus seres queridos. Conocido por su buen humor, siempre tenía una broma lista y una sonrisa que compartir. Por encima de todo, Isaac amaba profundamente a su familia. Le sobreviven su querida esposa, Virginia Mermella; sus hijos, Julissa, Eduardo, Oswaldo, Isaac Jr., Gerardo, Kony, Ruben, Marisol, Diana y Norma; 35 nietos y 21 bisnietos. También le sobreviven sus hermanos, María y Jesse.

Fue precedido en muerte por sus padres y por su hijo, Juan Jose Mermella.

El legado de amor, humor y trabajo arduo de Isaac vivirá por siempre en los muchos corazones que tocó. Será profundamente extrañado y recordado con cariño por su familia, amigos y todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
