Marilyn Sue Marlow, lovingly known as “Susie,” passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 70, and went to join the family members who had gone before her.
Susie was a loving, giving, and devoted woman whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. She treasured family gatherings, holidays, and creating special memories with those she loved most. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.
An excellent cook, Susie was famous among family and friends for the delicious meals she prepared, especially during the holidays. Her pot roast, enchiladas, and fruit salad were family favorites that everyone looked forward to enjoying. Through her cooking, she shared not only wonderful meals but also her love and care for those around her.
Susie loved family trips to Corpus Christi, where she enjoyed fishing, collecting seashells, and taking long walks along the beach. One of her most memorable adventures was a family trip to Las Vegas during Halloween in 2015, a vacation filled with laughter and treasured memories.
A dedicated sports fan, Susie proudly supported the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her favorite teams and enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends.
After 38 years of dedicated service, Susie retired from La Quinta Hotels, where she worked as a Night Auditor. She took great pride in her work and was respected for her commitment, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Susie was known for being a tell-it-like-it-is, straightforward woman. She spoke honestly, lived authentically, and never hesitated to share her thoughts. Those who knew her appreciated her sincerity, strength, and sense of humor.
Above all, Susie was incredibly proud of her two sons. They were her greatest accomplishment and brought her immense joy throughout her life.
Susie leaves behind a legacy of love, family traditions, cherished memories, and countless lives touched by her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on through the many memories she created and the love she shared.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 50 years Charles Edward Staudt III; sons, Charles Edward Marlow and his wife, Lynda Marlow, William Walter Staudt and his wife, Brandy Loving; step-son, Karl Staudt and grandchildren Liv & Mathais; siblings, Stan Marlow, Sandra Clark and her husband, Steve.
May she rest in peace, reunited with her loved ones, and forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
