September 29, 1948 ~ July 25, 2026

Born in: Austin, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Kenneth Gregg Grelle was born on September 29, 1948 in Austin, Texas, to Eugene Henry and Norma Moldenhauer Grelle. He was the second of five children and passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026.

At the age of eight, Kenneth moved with his family to the east side of San Antonio, where he proudly made his home for the rest of his life. He graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1967 and built a life centered around family, hard work, and lifelong friendships.

Following in the footsteps of his older brother, Kenneth joined the Texas Youth Rodeo Association around 1966. He spent several years riding bulls as an amateur, a passion that reflected his adventurous spirit and determination. In recognition of his contributions to the sport, Kenneth will be posthumously inducted into the Rodeo Cowboy of South Texas Hall of Fame in March 2027.

Kenneth dedicated his entire career to the trucking industry. Whether he was behind the wheel, dispatching trucks, or operating his own trucking company, he took great pride in his work. He retired from Pilot in 2019 after many years of service.

Outside of work, Kenneth found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting and treasured the opportunity to share those passions with his daughters and grandsons, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He was known for his kind heart, dependable nature, and ability to make lasting friendships wherever he went.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Dianne Grelle; his daughters, Stacy Grelle and her son, Clayton Grelle; Kimberly Ringer and her husband, Cody, along with their children, Ethan, Aubrey, and Lennon; and Shannon Kurtz and her husband, Rodd, along with their children, Brett, Katelyn, Chase, Kendall, and McKenzie. He is also survived by his sisters, Karyl Johnson, Peggy Kennison, and Linda Fiesler; his brother-in-law, Ray D’Spain (Susan); his sisters-in-law, Kathy Waclawzcyk, Janice Grelle, and Pat Grelle; numerous nieces and nephews; his faithful retirement companion, Sassy; and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eugene and Norma Grelle; his brother; his in-laws; and many dear friends. While his family will miss him deeply, they find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with those who went before him.

Kenneth was a proud member of the Harlandale Masonic Lodge, raised to the level of Master Mason on July 21, 1989.

A Masonic funeral service will be held at MeadowLawn Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at his favorite gathering place, Mr. Jim’s Trading Post in China Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Kenneth’s honor to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
