It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eddie Lopez, who entered eternal rest on July 27, 2026, at the age of 42. Born on October 1, 1983, in San Antonio, Texas, Eddie lived a life defined by love and laughter.

Eddie deeply loved his two sons, Joel Anthony Lopez and Joseph Nathan Lopez, and adored his grandchildren, MateoCoraVinny, and Anthony. He cherished every memory spent with them. He worked hard to become the man he was called to be for his sons, his mother, and his family. His sensitive heart, caring spirit, love for his family, and desire for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with the devotion he poured into his sons and grandbabies, will forever remain his greatest legacy.

Known for his warm smile and wonderful sense of humor, Eddie had a gift for making those around him laugh. The sound of his laughter is unforgettable and will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him. He was kind and compassionate. Whether gathered with family, listening to his favorite music, reading his favorite books, or representing his beloved team and five-time champions, the San Antonio Spurs, Eddie embraced life’s simple pleasures and valued the time he spent with those he loved.

Eddie was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Laurentina Valdez Castro, and his cherished Tia, Rosa Martha Herrera, whose words, fervent prayers, and unwavering love made an eternal impact on his life and ultimate conviction to seek God, in the secret and quiet place. Eddie loved waking up early in the morning to read his Bible and pray. He was unashamed to go to the altar and meet with God.

He leaves behind to honor and cherish his memory, his two sons, Joel Anthony Lopez and Joseph Nathan Lopez (and wife Shyanna); his cherished grandchildren, MateoCoraVinny, and Anthony; beloved parents, Ana Esdilia Castro de Hernandez and Ignacio Hernandez; his loving siblings, Joseph (Samantha) CastroAna Karen LopezAbdiel LopezKimberly HernandezLora Naiely Hernandez, and Balvina Sarai Hernandez; his lifelong friend, James Sanchez; along with many extended family members, relatives, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by him.

Though Eddie’s time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His precious soul, unconditional love, and infectious laughter will never be forgotten.

May he rest in eternal peace, in The Everlasting Arms, reunited with those who have gone before him, until the day we are together again.

  1. CandleImageYou will forever be in my heart Eddie and ill cherish all the moments we had growing up together. Best friend/Brother for eternal. 🙏

  2. CandleImageTo the father of our child,
Today my heart is filled with sadness as I say goodbye. Even though our lives followed different paths and we didn’t share the years we once imagined, we were forever connected through the beautiful gift of our child. That bond is something time could never erase.
I pray that God’s loving arms have welcomed you home and that you have found the peace that surpasses all understanding. My prayers are with your family, your loved ones, and with our child as they grieve this loss. May the Lord surround each of them with His comfort, His strength, and His unfailing love during this difficult time.
Thank you for the life you gave and for the part you will always have in our child’s story. You may be gone from this earth, but your memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
Until we meet again, may you rest in the eternal peace of our Lord. You will be remembered with grace, compassion, and love.
    With heartfelt sympathy and love.

  3. I love you and will miss you forever Eddie, until we all meet again. There won’t be a day that will go by that I won’t think of you. I’m so thankful for the precious moments and divine opportunities we had with you. Thank you for having an open heart and humble spirit with us. I take great comfort in looking back at the times you spent at the altar. I’ve often wondered what prayers you whispered to God. Thank you for sharing your time with us and giving us the opportunity to be there for you and love you. We will honor you and carry you in our hearts until eternity!
