James "Jim" Christenberry

James “Jim” Ray Christenberry, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Born on April 25, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Jim was the beloved son of the late Theresa Gonzalez and John H. Christenberry. Known simply as “Jim” to family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, he lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and service to others.

Jim graduated from the University of Louisville and earned his Master’s Degree in Accounting from Bryer State University. He also attended UNAM & the University of Notre Dame. An entrepreneur at heart, he was the owner and CEO of Tax, Insurance & Real Estate and operated multiple successful businesses for more than 40 years. His strong work ethic, business acumen, and determination earned him the respect of colleagues and the admiration of those who knew him.

Despite his demanding career, Jim always found time to give back to his community. He was a dedicated team leader of the American Red Cross, volunteered with his local Fire and Rescue Department, gave financial lectures at AARP, as well as a member of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas. He was also a business professor at San Antonio College and UTSA.

Jim will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, infectious smile, unwavering dedication to his family and community, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His legacy of service, integrity, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

Jim’s memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife of 28 years, Xochitl Christenberry; daughter Gianna Christenberry; Alexander Mario Christenberry, Ivan Berardi, and James “Jimmy” Christenberry Jr.; and grandchildren Alanis Berardi and Ivy Berardi.
