Matthew O. Mayberry Jr.

Matthew O. Mayberry, Jr., was born on October 21, 1944, in Floresville, Texas, to Matthew and Lillie Mayberry. On August 2, 2026, Matthew passed away in Seguin, Texas, at the age of 81. 

Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Lillie Mayberry; his beloved wife, Gloria Mayberry; his brothers, Herman Mayberry and Allen Mayberry; his sister-in-law, Lucille Mayberry; and his brothers-in-law, James C. Brooks and Willie L. Foley. 

He leaves behind his sons, Mark Mayberry (Michelle) and Michael Mayberry (Trixie), who will forever carry their father’s memory in their hearts. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Desiree Mayberry, Rinn Mayberry, Blake Letourneau (Ashlyn), Chasity Cockerham (Dwayne), and Charity Letourneau. 

Matthew is also survived by his siblings, Lillie M. Brooks, Evelyn Wallace, Carolyn Foley, and Carl Mayberry (Jessie); his sister-in-law, Katherine Mayberry; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. 

 The Homegoing Service for Matthew O. Mayberry, Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Refuge III Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, located at 7535 Elm Creek Rd., Seguin, Texas 78155.  

A private family interment service will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at MeadowLawn Memorial Park Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
