Charles Ervin McGarity, Sr

Charles Ervin McGarity, Sr., was born June 17, 1940 in Kingsbury, Texas to the union of Farris and Bessie McGarity. The youngest of eleven children, he graduated from Rosenwald High School in Luling, Texas. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age. In 1960 he united with East Saint Paul Methodist Church under the pastoral leadership of The Reverend O.B. Coe. On March 28, 1960 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Richardson. To this union three children were born. Charles was employed with VIA Metropolitan Transit Company for 35 years as a procurement specialist. He was earlier employed with the renowned Joske's Department Store for nearly 20 years. He also attended personal enrichment classes in the Alamo Community College District. Charles enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren ...Aiden and Alyssa Diaz, traveling to different scenic and cultural sights; repairing and renovating items, and attending various fun and entertaining events around the world. He leaves to cherish his memory of 55 years of marital bliss, wife Dorothy, and children Natalie McGarity-Diaz (Jesse), Charles Ervin McGarity, Jr. (Tara) and Tiffany McGarity-Davis (Edward); brothers James and Marshall (Maxine), in-laws Ardis and Claudia Richardson, Annie Cross, Eva Price and Phyllis Brown and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
