  1. Mara was an amazing person. For a short time It was my privilege and pleasure to share some of the magic that Mara created at Jewell’s Gymnastic Center. I was inspired by her ability to do seeming anything. She had more energy than anyone I have worked with in my 45+ years of teaching. Everyone associated with the gym adored her. That was a lucky bunch of kids that walked through the doors of Jewell’s Gymnastic Center.

  2. I had the privilege of knowing Mara when she owned Jewel ‘s Gym. She was a delightful person and encouraged her gymnasts to achieve. My young granddaughter continues her gymnastics endeavors because Mara instilled a love of the sport in her. I consider Maria’s influence the foundation of my granddaughter’s success.

  3. I attended a dinner that Mara hosted at her apartment for friends from church after her gym closed. Mara seemed like an interesting person to know…but I never followed up Maybe we can take the opportunity to get to know more interesting people before they die.
