Juanita (Janie) Salinas was born on August 10, 1953 in Seguin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her beloved father Perfecto L. Mendez, mother, Katharine O. Mendez and brother, Abel Mendez (Margarita). She was a wonderful mother to her 3 children, Yvonne Hasty (Gideon), Christine Denard, and her son Jason Gonzales. Due to an accident, she cared for Jason, faithfully remaining by his side ensuring he was cared for in the best way possible. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband Juan Salinas who has always been such a patient, caring man to us all. She was a loving grandmother/great grandmother to Sundaye, Kenneth, De'Zsa, Jason Jr., Julian, Jalissa, Alyna and Etzio. She loved spending time with them all every chance she got. Family was always at the forefront of her life. She fought a courageous battle against cancer and made sure her faith in God guided her every step of the way.
She leaves to mourn her brothers, sisters, brothers- in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert (Vicky), Richard (Marisela), Perfecto Jr. (Janie), Edward (Janie), Michael (April), Isabel (Roy), Maria Rosario (Robert), Maria Esther (David.
Together with all her nieces and nephews made her life abundantly happy and fulfilling. She was also a special friend to many of you as well. We all gained a beautiful angel in Heaven who will forever remain in our hearts. The presence of her spirit will always remain by our side. Rest peacefully child of God.

A new angel entered heaven. I will always be grateful to Janie for all her kindness and letting me stay with her when I was a teenager. Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of her passing. Praying for her children and grandchildren to find peace and comfort .
