Floyd Elmin Maddocks , 71, of San Antonio, TX, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born in Belfast, Maine on May 22, 1941. After high school, he joined the Air Force and moved to Merced, CA where he met and married Susan Elaine Maddocks on September 25, 1965. They had 3 daughters, Karen Irene, Kimberlee Sue and Kathy Marie. He retired from the Air Force in 1982 after 23 years of service and went on to work for the Post Office until he retired in 2007. He loved working on cars, especially Volkswagen Bugs, spending time at the lake, watching the San Antonio Spurs, and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He never met a stranger in his life.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Maddocks, daughter Karen Pina and son-in-law, Landy Pina, daughter Kim Norwood and grandson, Chris Norwood, daughter, Kathy Maddocks, son-in-law, Alfonso Carrillo and grandson, Ethan Carrillo. He is also survived by his brother Emery Maddocks, of New York, sister, Linda Mear, of San Antonio, along with her daughter, Tonya Quitugua, husband, Robert Quitugua and great nephew Dominic Quitugua. He has many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmin & Hazel Maddocks, sister, Ollie Vattes, brother, Freddie Maddocks and sister, Mildred Maddocks Bowen.
The services will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home Tribute Center, at 5415 East Houston, San Antonio, TX 78220. The viewing will be Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5pm 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00am with interment to follow in Meadowlawn Memorial Park. The family asks in lieu of flowers you make a donation in his name to the following: St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Texas Organ Sharing Alliance, or a charity of your choice.
