Guestbook
My prayers and thoughts in the days to come are with all those who loved Aunt Nickie, especially for Uncle George, Norma Jean and Steve.
My Aunt Nickie was someone easily loved and treasured by those who knew her well, for she loved fully, whole-heartedly and unreservedly. The things I remember and treasure most about her?
She had an open, easy way about her with a beautiful, sunny smile.
She had a great sense of humor reflected in an easy, full-out infectious laugh.
She loved and was fascinated by people, whatever flavor and style and age they came in. She especially loved children and was loved by them in return. (She was someone I looked up to and trusted fully as a child, in a world of very confusing adults!)
In a room full of people, she would be the first to step forward with a ready hug, kiss and smile of welcome. She made one feel very valued.
She was an optimist with a true determination and ‘can-do’ attitude – whatever life threw at her.
She maintained a delightful joy for life and a refreshing, youthful wonderment about people and things about her.
Though she had a well-developed sense of discernment, her kind-heartedness and natural optimism always gave others the benefit of the
doubt. Through life’s ups and downs, she did not allow pessimism or cynicism to become a part of her make-up.
She was loyal, fierce and passionate in the defense of her family and friends.
She loved and appreciated beautiful things and saw beauty and worth where others might struggle to see anything of redeeming value.
She was never simply dismissive about things or people she didn’t understand. She was open and honest in all her conversation.
There is so much more one can say about our beloved Nickie. She was treasured in ways that those considered ‘greatly accomplished’ in this world will never be. If you gave half the measure of what Aunt Nickie gave to you,
you were a wealthy person; if you gave as much as she gave to you, you were a rich person indeed!
Niki was a fun loving person. She was someone that I had the privilege of
calling my mother-in-law. Not only was she a beautiful person on the inside but also on the outside. Her smile was contagious. Very kind hearted and well loved by everyone that knew her. I will never forget the conversations we had and how most of them always ended up in laughter. Or how she always treated me nice. To my father–in-law, Norma and Stephen you have my deepest sympathy. She will forever be loved and missed.
