Guestbook

  1. Wayland you definitely left a lasting impression and I will never forget you. Especially your dancing! I miss you. My mom misses you.

  2. Wayland…..You were my first close friend when I moved to Texas. Joe and I always enjoyed our times we shared with you. We love you and will miss you my friend. Ride the Fields in Heaven Cowboy…until we meet again.

  3. Wayland and I had planned to get Brad with a friend of mine down by San Antonio that was having the best positive approach to living with a wheel chair for getting any where. We never got to get together for it to be done. So sorry, My prayers are with all of you. I wish I had made it happen for sure with what we have now. Maybe it could have been a help to all.

  4. My thoughts and prayers are with Wayland’s family. We went to high school together and have visited with one another at the Garland High School Reunions over the years. He is such a big part of my memories of GHS.

  5. Wayland, I’m sorry for the pain you carried and now for your family’s loss. A glimmer of Hope and Trust in our protective Loving Lord will bring peaceful deliverance for you all.

We went to school and had classes together in Garland, along with great laughs and fun. You were so admired. I just wish I had met up with you in more recent years to maybe have helped you love life more and know that God is the provider of perserverance and strength in any situation or trial. Now, dance with the angles…. You were loved.

  6. The best way I know to express my opinion of Wayland, who I only knew for a few years, was that he was a GREAT BLOKE ! (That is the ultimate compliment an Australian can give). Vale Wayland. See you with the Lord one day mate.

  7. I’ve had a special bond with Kathi Herrin with the loss of Brad Herrin and now the lose of Wayland Herrin. She asked me to post what I told her after the Memorial Service for Wayland.

Kathi, I could feel there was a strong loving presentation for closer presented by Kerry that we all felt. I got those inside heartfelt feeling of seeing instant repair of whatever was troubled with their relationship. I felt Wayland seeing and hearing him, to have loved to have still been here himself alive, to share with Kerry all their father & son love. I too, was going to stand up to speak just as the Minister called a close to memorial moments, but maybe the greater plan was for me to just tell you. I wanted to tell the wonder I feel that Wayland was just Wayland. Yes, he had a shorter life than we would have wanted. But, Wayland took his own ruff back roads trip to Heaven thinking of the family waiting with answers and love. I truly from the heart, wanted to have shared for Scarlet and all the Herrin’s, and of course everyone else, what you and I have seen and shared. To visualize seeing Brad reaching out pulling him to himself, with a huge smile, hugging Wayland. I was going to end with saying, “knowing Brad’s beloved wife Kathi’s here with us, here for his brother, and her beloved friend and her brother-in law Wayland Herrin”. “wanting us know” “from her heart” “It truly is OK!” .. .”One’s Love’s and Friendship’s Don’t Die” “They are Always There” …”in Our Heats”

  8. My memories of Wayland from GHS is that he was a ‘hunk’! I knew him but he didn’t actually know me til our 40th reunion. Then of all times..he noticed me! We danced, shared jokes, laughs and memories with Danny Robison. Both of those guys, being best friends from school, loved to play ‘head games’. I never knew if either one of them were serious or not. He attended my grandsons birthday celebration and met the ‘whole’ family. He had us in stitches laughing so hard. No one could hardly eat. It’s a memory I’ll cherish. Wayland you were a gentleman to the core. Your vocabulary was amazing and annoying. I kept wanting to ask you to speak English. I’ll miss hearing your voice, seeing that smile and that little twinkle in your eye. Wayland..I truely wish you would have known how much you were loved…by so many. Many people feel your loss and it’s left a big whole in many hearts. I know you feel no pain of any kind and are with family in heaven. But you are greatly missed here on earth. Don’t forget us because we won’t forget you.

  9. As an underclassman, I always heard of Wayland in school. I met him last summer. He was a wonderfully fun person to be around. When I heard this news, even though I didn’t know him very well, it left a huge hole in my heart. My prayers are with his family and close friends. I know he will be terribly missed.

  10. Boy! do I remember Wayland. The football games and study hall. What a great time! Wayland was a wonderful friend and I will never forget the good times. You were one of the best looking boys at Garland High. Good-bye my friend………………………..
