Sam Adams was born to Charles Henry and Shellie Adams in Guadalupe County, Texas on June 9, 1920. He was the fifth of twelve siblings, one whom died in infancy. He hails from a very close knit, loving, caring, and sharing family. Sam attended Roosevelt School in Guadalupe County. He entered the United States Army Air Corps in 1942. In his later years he continued his life as a rancher, real estate investor, and entrepreneur. Sam was well known for his love of raising and training horses. He also spent much of his life breeding cattle in the counties of Guadalupe and Bexar. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 63 years, Mattie Jackson Adams. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Charles Jr.; five sisters, Jessie Williams, Claudia Wells, Geneva Miller, Shirley Harris, Willia Inman, and Carrie Antwine. Sam leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Clyde of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robert Adams of San Antonio, Texas one brother in-law, George Harris of San Antonio, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
