Edward L. Bios

edward bios
Edward Lee Bios Sr. was born on April 11, 1946 to Glenn Jones and Ethel Green in Caldwell, Texas. Soon after his birth, he was adopted by Robert Bios and Mandy Bios. Edward was raised in San Antonio, Tx. by his adopted grandmother, Dovie Green. Most of his childhood was spent playing sports in the Edgewood School District, excelling at both football and track. In addition to an athlete, he became a musician, playing the trumpet and saxophone in his high school band. At the age of 16, he, an ambitious teen, traveled to California in search of a dream. In just a year's time, he learned about business in all of its aspects, and came back to San Antonio on a mission. He united with Norvella Chase, and this union was blessed with three children: Edward Bios Jr., Daniel Bios, and Cynthia Bios. Edward continued expanding his musicianship playing with the Latin- Jazz band AudioBodio, and other surrounding Jazz and Funk bands. His musical endeavors, alongside with his experiences in California and working in family businesses, led him to open the first nightclub owned by an African American in downtown San Antonio. After his accomplishments, he united with the woman he'd spend the rest of his life with, Jeanine Toliver. Both Edward and Jeanine were blessed with three children: Edwin Toliver, Mandria Toliver, and Darcell Bios.. He then proceeded to open a restaurant, with his cousin, in Seguin, Tx. called, 'Mesquite Junction". His driven entrepreneurship concluded with the closing of his last club, "Perfect Timing", and the start of his last business that sold and operated arcade games. He spent the remainder of his life guiding his family with wisdom, honor, and thankfulness. He showed his love by providing an outstretched hand, an open door, and good home cooked meals to anyone who needed it. He lived a life that was full, a life that was rooted in the betterment of other people, and most importantly, he lived a life that made him more than worthy for his spot in the kingdom. He leaves to celebrate his legacy: his wife, Jeanine Toliver; his children, Edward Bios Jr., Daniel Bios, Cynthia Bios, Edwin Toliver, Mandria Toliver, and Darcell Bios; a host of grand- children, and great grandchildren; two sisters, Glennett Allen and Charlesetta Jackson; one brother, David Lee Jones; one aunt, Elsie Chatman; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his childhood best friend, George Gonzalez.

  1. Mr. Edward “Bush” Bios was nicknamed “TD” for Touch Down, he was a full back with speed in high school. Proud to call him a friend.

When I was a teen my mother gave me a ten dollar bill to go to the D&R Grocery store a block away. I ran to the store and when I got there I didn’t have the $10 bill. I back track to see if I had dropped along the way. As I was looking for it, Bush came up to me and asked what was I doing and I told him I was very worried because I had lost the $10 bill. He said would help me look for it. Then he said he found it, I thank him and went on to the store and bought the things my mother told me to buy.

When I returned and as was entering my house with the groceries, I found the $10 bill laying on the porch where I had dropped it.
