May 24, 1954 ~ October 10, 2015
Chrisann Greenhaw Stokes, 61, of Boerne, Texas passed away on October 10, 2015 at 1:49 AM at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, TX after a lengthy battle with cancer. As in life, her husband Jimmie was by her side. Born May 24, 1954 in Dumas, TX to Margaret and Cliff Greenhaw, Chrisann graduated from Dumas High School in 1972 and went on to earn her degree from the Amarillo College of Dental Hygiene in 1976. She retired after a successful 36 year career in which she was able to help many patients and make life- long friends. While many people find love at an early age, very few find their true soulmate while still in high school. When Chrisann met Jimmie, she found the person who would share her life and fill it with love and laughter. They married on August 1, 1977 and spent the next 38 years raising their children, traveling, and enjoying their nine grandchildren. Chrisann also spent her time as part of the Host Ministry at Oak Hills Church and was a leader of Bible Study Fellowship for eleven years. She is survived by her husband Jimmie Stokes of Boerne; three daughters: Tiffanie and Andy Anderson, Carrie and Chris Hansen, Katie and Chris Peterson; grandchildren: Ryan, Haley, Brett, Alexia Coy, Gage, Gunner, Austin, and Zoe; one sister MaryBeth Avery of Amarillo, Texas; mother-in-law Evelyn Stell, brothers-in-law Phil Stokes, Stacey and Brenda Stokes, and Keith and Carolyn Stokes all of Amarillo as well as many nieces and nephews. Chrisann was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Kent Stokes and James Avery. Anyone who came in contact with her was touched by her Christian spirit of love and joy at the life she had been given. She relished every moment with her family and friends, nothing gave her greater pleasure than preparing a fabulous meal with her grandchildren surrounding her or strolling through the streets of New Orleans with Jimmie by her side. She left us much too soon and we will forever miss her until we meet again. A Memorial Service will be held for her on Saturday October 17 at 2:00 PM. The service will take place at Oak Hills Church 19595 IH 10 West, San Antonio, South Room.
