Ronald Julius Hansen July 9, 1934 January 9, 2015 Ronald Julius Hansen passed away at home, after a stroke, January 9th at 12:20 pm. He was 80 years old. Ronald was born in Tilden, Nebraska and raised on the plains of South Dakota. He graduated from Bennett County High School May 1948. He joined the Air Force February 1957 becoming a C130 Aircraft Maintenance Tech. He reached the grade of T.Sgt. and served for 20 years, retiring February 1973. After his retirement he went to the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD using the GI Bill for Hotel/Motel management. He did many different types of jobs in his life, loving them all as long as he could meet people. He married Elizabeth Tuggey Lyons November 1969, she preceded him in death May 2014. He is survived by two sister, Marjo Maples and Lois Hanes, one son Russell Julius Hansen, and 6 step children, Patricia, Thomas, Susan, Mona, Jamie, & William, 26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Ron was a life member of the American Legion and a long time member at Resurrection Episcopal Church where he served as a Lay-reader, an Usher and an Eucharist minister. Ron loved traveling, recycling, reading, playing canasta and doing crossword and Jigsaw puzzles. The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care for their loving care and support for the past year.
