Gwendolyn Elaine Leach

gwendolyn leach
Gwendolyn (Punkin) Elaine Leach was born on December 15, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to the union of Abraham and Mary Brownlow. She was the oldest of five children and accepted Christ at an early age at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. At the age of 19 years old, Gwen was united in marriage to Bobby Carol Johnson and to this union two children were born, Selby B. Johnson and Karenina Ann Johnson. Later on in life, Gwen met and married Elmore Leach in June 1997 - they were happily married for 17 years. The majority of Gwen's life was spent caring for others. After graduating from Edison High School, Gwen went on to complete her certification as a licensed Certified Nurses Aid (CNA), then enrolled at Tech Vocational School to receive her certification as a Unit Ward Clerk. Gwen, also known by many as "Punkin", was the definition of a social butterfly. Her gorgeous smile, quick wit, sense of humor, feisty yet friendly demeanor and her willingness to give all she had will always be remembered by all who knew her. Gwen leaves to cherish her memory: husband Elmore Leach; son Selby Johnson (Erika); daughter Karenina Ann Johnson; stepchildren Jennifer Leach and Jonathan K. Leach (Serena); grandchildren Selby B. Johnson Jr., Prince Johnson IV, Schuyler Woods, Bannecker Woods; sisters Linda Floyd, Vicki Ball, Phyllis Watson; brother Don Brownlow; nieces and nephews Tracy Phelps, Ronald Francisco, Jimmy Brown, Jessica Ball, Kevin Ball, Wilford Armstrong; and a host of relatives and friends. Gwen will be truly missed by all.
