Delmo V. Pizzati "Del" was born in October 23rd 1922 in New York, NY., and entered into rest November 15th, 2012 in San Antonio, TX., his last place of residence. He was pre-deceased by his parents Marcellino and Pierina. First spouse Emily and brother William. A World War II Veteran paratrooper in the 501st PIR, 101st Airborne Division. Delmo bravely fought in Normandy on D-Day and landed in Omaha Beach. He also fought in The Battle of the Bulge and The Siege of Bastogne. Recipient of two Purple Hearts and the Silver Star Medal. He was also awarded the French and Belgian Croix de Guerre with Palm and Presidential Unit Citation Award. He was honorably discharged from the US Army as Sergeant. He continued serving his country joining the Washington DC. MPD and U.S. Secret Service and retired as a Lieutenant. Through his experience and passion to serve, he later became Commander of the American Legion Mexico Chapter. Delmo was a loving husband and father. Survived by his wife Adela, daughter Freshia, and brother Vincent. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Graveside services were held 3:00PM, November 21, 2012 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
