anna tinney
Anna Lea Tinney passed away at home on October 17, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her daughters Deborah, Paula, and Lea Ann; six grandchildren, Nadia, Ian, Abigail, Sarah, Emma, and Sean; and five great-grandchildren, Noah, Korbyn, Arabella, Parker, and Tucker. Ann was born on August 12, 1927, in Graham, TX and was raised in Cuero, TX. She settled in San Antonio, where she attended Our Lady of the Lake University and met her husband Walter Raymond Tinney, Jr., whom she married in 1950. Ann was a career businesswoman and was proudest of her role as general manager of Benson Toyota in Universal City. She was an active member of Zonta International, an association for professional women, and worked with her local chapter to advance the status of women worldwide for many years. After her retirement she devoted herself to volunteering in her community, honing her creative skills with knitting, quilt-making, and crocheting, and nourishing her family with feasts for every holiday and a never-ending supply of cookies in the icebox. In death Ann is reunited with her beloved husband, Walter Raymond Tinney, Jr., her sister, Pauline Kacir, her brother, Francis Hiller, and her grandson, Nathan Paul Soukup. Ann's strong uniting presence in her family will be deeply missed.
