Cathryn Aubin Hudson, (Newman), age 86, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010.

Our mother raised four children as a single parent. She never complained, never left a debt or obligation unpaid, and never doubted that God would provide for those with faith. We were poor but very much loved. She worked five and a half days a week and took in sewing at night. Even with this schedule, our mother found the time to plan and cook nutritious meals for us. She taught us how to cook and sew. We all had chores to do and we did them as a family because we knew that family is the most important thing.
Everyone who met our mother soon grew to love her. Her heart was open to all the world and her joy touched everyone around her. She was Irish in her heart strong and full of life. She did not believe in death, only in eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her son William Lomax Hudson, Jr. "Max" of Natchez, Ms.; daughter Martha "Claire" Hudson of Houston, Tx; son Samuel Lawson Hudson "Sam" of Vicksburg, Ms., husband, William Lomax Hudson "Bill" of San Antonio, Tx. She is survived by her son, James Howard Hudson "Jim" of Alvin, Tx; daughter Cheryl Anne Smith of San Antonio, Tx; daughter Cathryn Aubin Smith "Cathy" of San Antonio, Tx., grandson Alexander Douglas Stehling "Alex" of San Antonio, Tx. and grandson Dallas William Smith of San Antonio, Tx.
She kept little clips of paper with her for inspiration. I'm sure that she would like to share some of these with anyone who happens upon this place.
Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the In the palm of his hand.
Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning hush; I am the swift, uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there; I did not die.

A very wonderful person to have known. She will be missed.
Cheryl, I was truly saddened to hear about the passing of your mother. I know she will be deeply missed. She was a strong, caring woman who I know truly loved her kids, and grandchildren. Just know that she is at rest now, and reunited with other loved ones who were waiting for her. She may be gone, but her wonderful spirit will live on. You will always have the great, fond memories of your mom that no one will ever be able to take from you.
Aunt Kitty was a wonderful person and very kind to all of us. She always had a kind word, a special way of encouraging us, even from afar. She will be missed. On behalf of my brother and sister, we all mourn her passing and extend our condolences to our cousins.
She was a wonderful person, always positive and bright in her attitude. She’s at home with the Lord now, watching over all the people she loved.
Fleeting moments of country living as a child progresses to long gone teenage memories of many family gatherings of cousins, aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents; then, we reach adulthood and go our separate ways as life goes on. I remember Aunt Kitty from childhood to adulthood; always there with a loving ear and always compassionate and caring. Aunt Kitty, you will not be forgotten because you will always be in our hearts. (Little Roy).
“Mothers hold their children’s hands for just a little while…And their hearts forever.” – An Irish Blessing Mom, no one could touch my life as you have. Your memory will never die and your love will live forever in my heart. Love, Cheryl
Cheryl, I think your mother was my grandmother. Did your sister Cathy put a child up for adoption? My name was Cathryn Aubin Hudson
