Amous Gean Black went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the age of 79. Mr. Black was born on October 9, 1931 in Rusk Co. TX and was baptized into the church at an early age. He married Dorothy Lois Yarbrough in 1955 and was a career Army NCO retiring in 1977 as a 1ST Sgt. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy; his parents; Asa Black and Arvelia Bennett; daughter, Barbara Gean Black; siblings, Mertie F. Johnson, Elvois Black, Junior Black and Lacy B. Black. He is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Ann Black of Virginia, Jacy Mautz and husband Wayne of Colorado; brothers, Clayton Black, A.G Black., Cornelius Black, A.W. (Larry) Black, and Louvis Black .Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Meadowlawn Tribute Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the MeadowLawn Tribute Center. Private interment with full military honors will be held at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
