Anna Migdalia Murfitt

Anna Murfitt was born July 26, 1944, the eldest of three children born to John Bradford (step-father) and Marcelina Cortijo Santiago of Puerto Rico. Although she was born in New York City, she also spent a good majority of her time in Puerto Rico. In 1961, Anna gave birth to her daughter, Vanessa followed by the birth of her son, Martin (deceased) in 1962. Eventually, Anna was united in holy matrimony to Thomas Murfitt, a butcher which lasted until his death in 1988. Although a widower, she did not let that slow her down. Anna moved to San Antonio in 1990 and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Anna's approach to life was simple: live your life carefree. She was often noted as having a vibrant personality. Due to her amicable nature, Anna could often be found at the Senior Citizen Center. As an active member of the community center, she participated in various activities to include: painting, knitting, sewing, cooking, and her favorite hobbydancing. Anna is proceeded in death by her parents, her son, and husband: Thomas Murfitt. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Vanessa Patterson and loving son-in-law, Troy Patterson; Marion Grant, sister; John Bradford, brother; grandchildren: Tiffany, Tracey, DeAnna (DA), Troy, Jr. (Man), and Sharron; great-grandchildren: Adrienne and Jaxon, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.
