Antonia Perez Donovan, beloved family matriarch, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on January 24, 2026. She was born on February 6, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas, to Amador Delgado and Ester Cavazos Delgado.
Antonia was the heart and soul of her family. She loved her family fiercely and took immense joy in bringing everyone together. Her home was always filled with laughter, food, and love—especially during the many get-togethers she lovingly hosted. Cooking for her family was one of her greatest joys, and no one ever left her table hungry.
A woman of strong faith, Antonia loved God and lived her life guided by love, generosity, and devotion to her family. She took great pride in her appearance and carried herself with confidence and grace. She also knew how to enjoy life—she loved gambling, playing Lotería and buying her scratch-offs, camping, tubing, and especially taking spontaneous trips. If there was an opportunity to go somewhere on a whim, Antonia was always ready.
Above all else, she truly adored her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them and celebrating each milestone in their lives. Family was everything to Antonia, and nothing warmed her heart like spending time with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and her beloved friends. Her love and presence will forever live in their hearts.
Antonia is survived by her children, Rebecca (Ernest) Perez, Pearl Canche, Monica Martinez, and Rodolfo Perez; her grandchildren, Angel, Charles, Hannah, Samantha, Eryn, Seth, Dylan, Paul, and Emily; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Emerald, Ryanna, Zia, Jimmy III (J3), Joziah, and Evianna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Manuela, Ruby, Dolores, Elida, Candelaria, Carolina, Nicolas, Graviel, Pablo, Domingo, Amador, and Gregorio; and her first love, Charles Perez.
Antonia Perez Donovan leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, strength, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who were blessed to know and love her.
The family would like to invite guests to join them following funeral services for a dutch style lunch at El Tipico Mexican Restaurant in the “Fiesta Room”, located at 4930 Rigsby Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78222. The gathering is for connecting, providing a time for mourners to gather, share memories, and offer support.

Pearl… I’m very sorry for your loss.We pray that Jehovah may give you strength to endure while we await the fulfillment of His promises. Becky.
~ forever and always your granddaughter Hanna
Toni,
Thank you. Thank you for the absolute kindness and generosity you always showed and gave to me over many years of what I would describe as intermittent periods of time. And to my children as well. You welcomed me into your home, no matter where it was that you lived, and always made me feel like family, even if I wasn’t. I will never forget that the rest of my days. You can rest peacefully now sweet lady.
I can just picture the Lotería party you’re having with your brothers and sisters…laughing, cheating, and having the best time. Priceless. Give my mama and dad the biggest hug for me.
Love you more,
Your favorite niece
Our condolences to the family from Angeles family
Mommy, you leaving us has been the hardest and saddest life experience to date. I’m holding myself together the best way that I can. You are EVERYTHING to me. Trying to live without you will be the most challenging, the most difficult and the most painful. Everything reminds me of you! My tears will continue for my lifetime but know my memories we created together will live on forever in my aching heart. Our lives are forever, forever change. You are The Love Of My Life and I would do anything for you!!! I’ll miss your beautiful smile, your sweet soul, your warm heart, your gentle touch, holding your hand as we walk, your beautiful smell and comforting beautiful voice. Mommy you are My Rock. Mommy you are the strongest person I’ve ever met and I’m so proud to be your Daughter. You’ve endured so much in this lifetime and you kept pushing through it all. I’m so, so proud of you! Know that when I have a moment of overwhelming Grief I have to remind myself of Your Great Strength. You’re a fighter! My goal is…I will get myself together, I will continue doing this thing we call Life, I will do it for My Children, for My Family, as you did so many times when your loved ones left this Earth. I will honor you, I will make you proud. Know that you instilled in me your many great qualities….Love, Humor, Kindness, Gracefulness, Politeness, Spontaneity, Transparency, Compassion, Courage and most importantly Loyalty.
I am forever grateful God matched us up together here on Earth. You are forever My “Mother Love” and I am forever Blessed and forever Changed because you were in my Life! Thank you for everything My Beautiful Mommy!!!
LOVE YOU FOREVER! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN!
