Born in: Miami, Florida
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Arlington Jerome “AJ” Ferguson, affectionately known as “Boo”, was born July 4, 1949, in Miami, Florida to loving parents the late Hilton Jabez Ferguson and the late Ruth Mackey. He entered the arms of the Lord the morning of November 8, 2023, at the age of seventy-four.

Growing up in Overtown Miami, he was a rambunctious kid and he and his older brother loved playing football in the alley with all the neighborhood kids. He was a firecracker and didn’t take anything from anyone but was one of the most loving persons’ you ever known.

AJ attended High School at Miami Jackson High School, upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and devoted his life to serving this Country for over twenty years. AJ stayed true to his Miami roots, even long after his relocation to Texas. He remained a Miami Dolphins fan and frequently returned home throughout the year. AJ loved fishing, enjoyed football and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. He was in his element and at his best when he went fishing down in the Keys and throughout Miami and Texas. Let him tell it, he was the best fisherman in his group.

He loved to cook on the grill and would out cook anyone on his barrel grill while playing his oldie goldies while trying to sing making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. AJ was nothing short of an extraordinary Father, Brother and Grandfather. His kind spirit and generosity will live on for many years to come in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

AJ leaves to mourn three daughters Lenora Johnson (Shawndella Johnson), Tuwanda Ferguson and Lucretia Hawkins (Willis Hawkins). Three Brothers Hilton Jabez Ferguson, Rodney Williams (Deceased) Ronald Williams (Elgernia Williams), one sister Rhonda Hill (Darvin Hill). AJ has six grandchildren Scottie Jerome Ferguson, Tiyanna Bibb, LeAnna Sutton Jonathon L Sutton. Richard Johnson and Leroy Johnson. As well as his aunt Naomi Woodside. AJ has 10 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and 4 nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.

Special Thanks to Mary Flores, Lanelle Murdock, Leon “Tree” Spurlock, Carl Speight, Sabrina Strong, Celia Shepard and others for all the support and care you provided over the years.
