July 7, 1969 ~ September 10, 2021
Our beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, Arnulfo Benavides Jr., affectionally known as “AB”, gained his heavenly wings on September 10, 2021 at the young age of 52. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to parents: Arnulfo Benavides Sr. and Helen Ramos on July 7, 1969.
AB loved his family immensely and always took care of those around him. If you knew AB, you know how helpful, caring and funny he was. It wasn’t unusual for him to show up unexpectedly just to help mow the lawn. It was all about the little things with AB, one always knew that you could count on him to be there for you. We would share one of his funniest jokes, but it’s probably too inappropriate to be printed.
Having his young daughter, Hailee, and his grandson, Ruben, close in age was special and called for 2am summer stops at McDonalds just to spoil them a bit; him smiling and enjoying some good music on the road to Dallas to enjoy a live game of the Dallas Cowboys with his siblings, Sonia and Isaac, and his mom; hanging out with his friends and riding Harleys; family gatherings at Brackenridge Park; these were some of his favorite pastimes and those are the types of memories that we will cherish forever.
AB was preceded in death by his father, Arnulfo Benavides Sr., his son: Vincent Benavides, and his sister: Regina Benavides.
He leaves to cherish his mother, Helen Montez, his son: Ruben Benavides, daughter: Hailee Benavides; grandchildren: Ruben Isaiah Benavides Jr., Vincent Grey Benavides, and the golden gift of Baby Santiago Benavides, expected to arrive this November; his sisters: Sonia Benavides, Stacey Benavides; his brothers: Isaac Montez, and Arnold Benavides; and many others close relatives and friends.
AB, you will be deeply missed by all of us who knew and loved you dearly, you will forever be remembered in our hearts and like his grandson Vincent Grey says, “he is now our angelito with Tio Vincent”

Our warmest condolences,
Most of my memories of Arnold are childhood memories. He was always full of energy, laughing and running around. His joy was infectious, as we laughed at his antics. We barely made it down the isle as Aunt Stella & Uncle David’s ring bearer and flower girl. He was all over the place! His joy and energy was awesome and will always be remembered in my heart. Rest In Peace and dance with the Angels my sweet cousin for you are no longer in pain and can dance to your heart’s content. You will be dearly missed but your memories live on in our hearts ♥️ All our Love, your cousin Valerie Ann Madero Herrera and Family 🕊
