Walt and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Austin’s passing. It seems like yesterday that we were all together at tournaments with our boys on the wrestling mat. And what a great wrestler he was. We loved to watch him with his sisters. We could tell how special they were to him. He was always respectful to us. We have lost a fine young man. We will pray for you and his family.
Mike, our families prayers and thoughts are with you and your family, stay strong and God bless all of you.
Dear Mike, April, Brittany and Tiffany and Leah, We have no words to tell you how shocked and saddened we were to hear about Austin. There are no words that are adequate to tell you how much our hearts fill with love for you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you. Let God’s comfort and support sustain you as you go through this difficult time. Charles and Betty Lee
Dear family, Although I have never met you, my deepest sympathies are with you during the loss of your wonderful son, husband, and father. I became friends with Austin through wrestling in San Antonio. He was a wonderful coach to my son Stephen and he taught him many things that have helped him on and off the the wrestling mat. Austin even allowed my son to drive his Jeep even before I had the nerve to let him get behind the wheel. May the Lord bless and sustain you during this difficult time. Our prayers will be with you. Jim Mears

My son Slater and I remember Austin as the energetic young coach that helped out the Sandstorm wrestling team when we practiced at SA Christian Schools. He was the one with the upbeat attitude that loved getting on the mat with the high school kids. He also helped put together the first trip to the Super 32 tournament in his home state of North Carolina. We also remember him as the guy that drove the open top jeep with the mops sticking out the back. He was always willing to do whatever he could and he did it with a smile on his face. He really loved the sport of wrestling and he loved working with kids. I know he was disappointed when his new job wouldnt allow him to do so anymore but he stayed in touch and always wanted to know what was going on with the guys. I always assumed hed come back around as soon as he could but it didnt work out that way. He was a great guy and our kids are better off for having known him. Hell be missed.
My heart goes out to your family. Austin was a great guy… He loved to work out wth us… Miss u Coach… AJ Navarrete
Dear Family, Austin devoted so much time to the San Antonio club wrestlers, he will be GREATLY missed. He always took extra time with my son Aaron when he was new to the sport and that will always be greatly appreciated. We will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time. V/r Chad Walker
