Mrs. Aziza Cherrie Harvey-Johnson departed this life, June 7, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of warmth, strength, and joy.
Aziza was born on April 26, 1978, in Ft. Hood, Texas, to William Henry Harvey Jr. and Ayola Blair. From a young age, her vibrant personality and boundless energy made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. A natural conversationalist, Aziza had a special gift for connecting with others — her genuine interest in people and warm, friendly demeanor meant she never met a stranger.
Aziza pursued excellence in both her personal and professional life. She earned her Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance, a testament to her dedication and determination. She devoted her career to public service, working diligently with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where she was respected and admired by colleagues for her professionalism, intelligence, and heart.
Beyond her work, Aziza’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Shain Cardell Johnson, with whom she shared a deep and adventurous love. Together, they traveled extensively, exploring the continental United States, Florida, and the Bahamas, creating lasting memories along the way. Aziza was also a devoted mother to her children, Ayola Breshea Harvey, Armon Dejon Harvey, Shania Johnson, Taryn Johnson, Cameron Johnson and a proud grandmother to Khalif Quinton Harvey. She is also survived by her loving mother, Ayola Blair and mother in-law Leslie Gerus; siblings, Danico Harvey, Kendra Dukes, Quenesha Harvey, and Jasmine Rabb; nieces and nephews, Troydeion, Breanna, Donovan, Aniyeh, King, Genesis, Marley and special friends, Melanie, Sonja, Kay and Unique.
Aziza was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Harvey Jr., whose memory she carried lovingly throughout her life.
Aziza’s presence was a light to all who knew her — a source of laughter, wisdom, and comfort. She lived her life with purpose, love, and an open heart, and she will be remembered for the joy she brought into the world. She is no doubt watching her beloved Cowboys from the best seat in the house.
Her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed.
“To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die.”
