Barbara “Bobbie” Wade Frerking, age 84, passed away peacefully in her beloved home in Caldwell, Texas on October 14, 2025. She was born on November 11, 1940, in Bay City, Texas, to Lee Brawner and Thelma Davenport.
Bobbie lived a full and joyful life devoted to her faith in Christ, the family she cherished, and students she served in her role as a teacher for many decades. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend whose joy touched countless lives. Known throughout the Caldwell community, Bobbie’s warmth, humor, and generosity made her a delightful presence wherever she went.
Teaching was one of Bobbie’s lifelong passions. As an educator, she went above and beyond to bring joy and creativity into her classroom – often dressing in costumes, telling stories, or being delightfully silly to capture her students’ imaginations. She believed in making learning fun and meaningful, and her students adored her for it. She was still actively teaching at First Baptist School in Caldwell at the time of her passing, a testament to her enduring love for children and education. She taught at Mary B Erskine in Seguin, Texas early in her career, and treasured her many years teaching at Hill Country Christian School in San Marcos, Texas where she raised her two children with her husband Joe.
To her family, Bobbie was “Mimi” – always ready with laughter, hugs, adventures and wild stories that thrilled them so much. She was always spoiling her grandchildren with gifts and visits. She never missed a chance to make birthday or holiday special, and she leaves her family with a lifetime of happy memories to cherish.
Her life was marked by a deep love for Jesus. She prayed often and about everything. She loved listening to worship music and listening to Bible teachers, often reminding these she loved of God’s promises and goodness. Her legacy is one of faith, generosity, laughter and family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Stacey Hasbrouck and her husband, Bob; her son, Scott Frerking and his wife, Sarah; her nine beloved grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Allen Frerking, and her parents, Lee and Thelma Brawner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet, Texas. Please visit website for updates.
