Boaventura Goncalves DaSilva, affectionately known as Bo, was born in Brava, Cape Verde Island on February 12, 1966 to Manuel and Ilda DaSilva. He accepted Christ at an early age in his life while serving as an Altar Boy in Providence, Rhode Island. He was baptized at St. John Baptist Church in 1997. He served in many different churches, due to military assignments, in different capacities. He joined the Maranatha Bible Church, Converse, Texas, in October 2014.
Bo graduated from Shea High School in Providence, Rhode Island. He served in the U.S. Army and the United States Marine Corps. He was working at Planet Fitness until his death.
On December 25, 1993, he married the former Mary McCray. From this union, three children were born. Bo was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He served as a member of the Masonic Lodge, Samuel T. Daniels, #109, Mannheim, Germany. He was a faithful and loyal member. Bo was an overall wonderful person to be with and to be around.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 22 years, Mary McCray DaSilva, two daughters, Lisa Nicole-McCray DaSilva, and Jasmine Maria DaSilva, and one son, Boaventura Goncalves DaSilva II, (BJ). His father and mother, Manuel and Ilda DaSilva, Rhode, Island. His father and mother-in-law, James and Dorothy McCray, Leslie, Georgia. His brothers, Manny DaSilva (sister-in-law, Shawna) and Danny DaSilva of Rhode Island. His sisters, Carolina DosSantos, Rosie Spooner (brother-in-law, Jason) and Teresa Fortes, all of Rhode, Island. His brother-in-laws, James, John, and Michael McCray of Leslie, Georgia, Andrew McCray (sister-in-law, Lois) of Manassas, Virginia, and Brenda Alford (brother-in-law, Luther), of Americus, Georgia. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survived.

What a sincerely kind person. I was so very sad to hear of the news. I knew Bo through Planet Fitness. My prayers are with all of Bo’s family and friends. It’s so comforting to know he’s a Christian and in is now with our Lord.
