Brigitte S. Kouw

brigitte kouw
Brigitte Sandra Kouw, having laughed her last laugh, decided she had done all she could here and left us on Sunday September 28, 2008 at the age of 50. Brigitte was born February 1st, 1958 in Den Haag, Netherlands the first of five children and the only one to have been born in Holland. Brigitte is survived by her parents, Will and Petronella Kouw, her three sisters, Ingrid Kouw, Astrid Kouw, and Edith Kouw and her brother, Victor Kouw. She also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews, numerous close friends and a large extended family in the Netherlands. Brigitte was a lifelong cellist whose love of music will live on through her family, especially her father, Will. Brigitte never judged a person based on their mistakes and showed all of those in her life compassion and understanding. Knowing Brigitte is enough to make the improbable, possible. She will be forever loved and missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

  1. Brigitte’s Mother and I express our deep appreciation to all who entered your commemorative entries in this guestbook. Your words affirmed the wide circle of friends she was fortunate enough to have had.

  2. I was so sorry to hear about Brigitte. She was a wonderful friend with a charasmatic smile and laugh. We had many things in common, however, Las Vegas and Bingo Halls could light up are eyes. We spent a month in Eagle Pass working on an audit. This town did not have much in the entertainment department; however, we were able to find a bingo hall. We bought are cards, arranged are dobbers and good luck jewels. The one thing we didnt count on was the instructions for the type of bingo on each game was in Spanish. It didnt take Brigitte long to find help and we made a bingo buddy that helped us everytime we went. We played almost every other day. I didn’t think either of us would ever bingo, but, Brigitte pulled it off. She finally bingo’d right before we were getting ready to come back home. The only catch was, it wasn’t cash that she won, she won a free entrance ticket to a special bingo night where there would be higher denomination prizes to include a 10,000 dollar bingo. It just so happened that we were done with our work and would not be coming back to that town. The look on her face was priceless and we had a good laugh about how things seem to happen that way. On the way out of town, we stopped at a gas station to fill up. Brigitte gave her entrance ticket to the girl behind the counter who was about 8 months pregnant. I will miss her laugh and her kind soul.

  4. I knew Brigitte since elementary school and considered her as a sister. I have been trying to find here with no success until now. I wish that we had stayed in closer contact and I will miss her always as I have since we graduated high school together. Cindy Klier

  5. Just found out about Brigitte. We had fun with Brain Power, Safety and Vegas.

Will always miss you my friend.
