Charles E. Williams

Charles E. Williams, age 86, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Born in San Antonio, Texas on January 25, 1938, he was the son of the late Georgia McCarthy and Sam Williams. Charles graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School and went on to work for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service until his retirement.

Charles was known for his love of family, his care for animals, and his passion for tinkering and learning new things. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and gardening, answering every question on Jeopardy, and was always ready with a story. With his contagious laugh and warm hugs, he lit up every room he entered.

Charles is preceded in death by his son, Charles Williams, Jr. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years, Betty Williams; his son, Gregory Williams; grandchildren Ashtin, Kelsey, Miles, and Kennedy; sisters Helen Lampkin and Peggy Hodge; as well as many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church, with interment afterward at MeadowLawn Memorial Park.
