With deep love and heartfelt remembrance, the family of Christina G. Gutierrez announces her passing on June 7, 2025. Born on September 18, 1954, in Lamesa, Texas, to Reyes Gonzales Sr. and Natividad Peña Gonzales, Christina was truly one of a kind.
Christina was a vibrant, fearless woman with a lively spirit and a sharp sense of humor. She was una cabrona in the best sense of the word — strong, sassy, unfiltered, and unapologetically herself. Whether she was dancing, cooking up something delicious, baking sweets, sewing, crafting, or gardening, she did it all with flair and fire. She loved hard, laughed loud, and never missed a chance to speak her mind — always with her signature red lipstick.
She is survived by her son, Manuel Gutierrez Jr.; her grandchildren, Devan De la Cruz – Statum, Sydney Gonzales, Zebediah Gonzales, Virginia Martinez, Veronica Martinez, Ismael Martinez, and Isabel Martinez; and her 16 beloved great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Jimmy Gonzales, Sylvia Gonzales, Reyes Gonzales Jr., and Rudy Gonzales; her ex-husband, Manuel Gutierrez Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Christina is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tina Marie Gutierrez-Juarez; her parents; and her brother, Jesse Gonzales.
Her fierce love, contagious laughter, and larger-than-life presence will never be forgotten. Christina lived life on her own terms — bold and beautiful till the very end.
