December 6, 1944 ~ February 19, 2012
Claude James Domingue was born on December 6, 1944 to the parents of Forrest Domingue and Mable (Price) Domingue in Rayne, LA. He attended public schools and upon completion of high school he joined the United States Army in 1963. He thoroughly loved serving his country and worked hard to support his family. He also welcomed the extensive travel throughout his service and had multiple oversees tours: twice in Germany, Korea and Vietnam.
On January 19, 1968, Claude joined in holy matrimony with the love of his life Lois (Dorn) Domingue in San Antonio, TX and was a devoted husband for over 44 years. Through this union he and his wife bore a daughter in 1981, Andrea Dawn Domingue, and was a proud, thoughtful and caring father to his only child.
After serving approximately 25 years in the Army and life-long friendships, Claude retired at the rank of First Sergeant in 1988. During his service he received numerous medals of recognition including: * National Defense Service Medal * Vietnam Service Medal * Air Medal * Vietnam Campaign Medal * Meritorious Unit Commendation * Army Commendation * Vietnam Cross of Gallantry
Upon retiring from the military, Claude attended St. Phillips College where he received a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management in 1992. Following this degree, in 1993 he began work at the Marriott Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX and remained with the company for 10 years. He thoroughly loved sharing what he thought were the best places to visit in San Antonio, TX and had built a strong network of colleagues and friends. Claude spent his last years as the primary caretaker for his wife Lois and was a staple community member and friend at the Parklane West assisted living facility. In his spare time he enjoyed watching sports, a long-time member of various bowling leagues, and spent time with his beloved canine companion Prince.
Claude passed away on February 19, 2012. Mourning his departure yet cherishing the beautiful memories of his love and devotion are: his wife Lois M. Domingue of San Antonio, TX, one daughter Andrea D. Domingue of Northampton, MA; two brothers, Willie J. (Elvera) Domingue of Eunice, LA and Ronnie J. Domingue of Rayne, LA, and one sister Dorothy J. Domingue of Rayne, LA; three sister-in-laws Doris Mitchell of San Antonio, TX; Patricia Lewis of San Antonio, TX, and Thelma Ross of San Antonio, TX. He leaves in God abiding grace a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends.
