Dennis Gerard Wright, 62, of Bulverde, Texas, the eldest son of 1st Lt. Burl Merrick Wright, USMC Retired and Esther Margaret (Hofmann) Wright was chosen by the Lord to meet his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, William G. and Jessie (Slawson) Wright and his maternal grandparents, George H. and Esther M. (Popp) Hofmann; his uncles: William Floyd Wright, Jon Christian Wright, Thomas Marshall Wright, Ronald (Speedy) Franklin Wright and George Harold Hofmann, Jr.; his Aunts: Norma (Wright) Grimes, Colleen (Wright) Huebner, Jeanne Wright, Anna (Hofmann) Osborn, and Marilyn (Hofmann) Fowlkes. Denniss survivors are his children, Jennifer Blair and Lauren Alyssa Wright, their mother Janet Wright, his mother, three brothers: Jonathan Edward, Peter Damian, and Robert Christian Wright and his sister, Regina Marie (Wright) McKeever and numerous nieces and nephews.. Dennis, born in Beaufort, SC, was a graduate of Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, CA; he attended De Anza College in Cupertino, CA and then joined his family in San Antonio, TX where his father had retired. He worked for F and E Erection Co, out of San Antonio, TX, at Consol Coal Co in De Soto, IL helping to erect surface mining machines. He returned to San Antonio where he attended San Antonio and St. Phillips Colleges. He worked in Maintenance at UTSA. He taught Electrical Trades at St Phillipss College and in the apprentice program at Independent Electrical Contractors, INC. Dennis enjoyed teaching his trade and mentoring the younger generation so they would be able to provide for their families. He was a Master Electrician and worked with numerous companies throughout San Antonio which included, Capital Electric, Walker Engineering, Profile Electric, Tim Smoot and DC Electric before branching out on his own, DW Electrical Contracting. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, no matter the event. In his memory there will be a scholarship established with IEC San Antonio to benefit those that wish to join his trade. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Dennis Wright Scholarship Fund 2307 Bandera Rd San Antonio Tx 78228. We will be celebrating his life 2-5pm on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at The Cotton Gin at Specht's,112 Specht's Rd, San Antonio, TX 78260 . Memorial Mass will be held 10 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St Joseph-Honey Creek, 25781 TX 46, Spring Branch, Tx 78070.
