Stockdale, Texas
Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Domingo Guajardo Solis passed away on December 13, 2025, leaving behind a life rich with music, passion, and quiet devotion. Born on May 23, 1943, Domingo was a man whose soul spoke most clearly through melody, rhythm, and the gentle ways he showed his love.
Self-taught and deeply passionate, Domingo discovered his love for the accordion at a very young age. As a little boy, he would fall asleep with the instrument in his arms, playing until he simply could play no more. That love never faded. Music became his lifelong companion and his truest language. He played throughout his life alongside his brothers in their conjunto band, Los Ermanos Solis, as well as with various other bands over the years. His accordion told stories, carried memories, and brought people together.
In addition to playing, Domingo sang and wrote many songs, with a special fondness for love songs and heartfelt ballads. He had an extraordinary gift—able to sing bits of songs to mark nearly any memory, occasion, or feeling. Music flowed from him naturally; it was not just something he did, it was who he was.
Beyond music, Domingo had a deep love for racing horses. He took pride in caring for and training them, enjoying every part of the process and the sport itself. He also found peace in fishing and had a remarkable talent for growing plants, nurturing them with the same patience and care he was taught by his beloved mother.
Domingo was a man who took pride in his appearance, always dressing sharp from head to toe. Quiet and reserved by nature, he carried a tough exterior that concealed a tender and generous heart. Those fortunate enough to truly know him were blessed by his warmth and loyalty. Among them was his beloved niece, Rachel, whom he absolutely adored and held close to his heart.
Domingo was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Solis and Maria Guajardo Solis; his siblings, Petra (China) Solis, Ramon Solis, Santiago (Jimmy) Solis, Severance (Shorty) Solis, Eluterio (Joe) Solis, Lydia (Leele’) Solis, Lorencia (Lencha) Solis, Rafael (Ralph) Solis, and Paulito Solis; and his son, Raymond Solis.
He is survived by his four children: Roland Solis, Michelle Marshall-Ford, Ruben Solis, and Veronica Solis, along with extended family, friends, and countless lives touched by his music and spirit.
Domingo Guajardo Solis was, in every sense, a unique man—steadfast, gifted, and deeply human. His music, his love, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
