Donald “Zito” Poor, a loving father, brother, and friend, was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 7, 1950, and passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in San Antonio.
Donald was a man whose presence filled a room. Known for his quick wit, memorable stories, and unmistakable character, he brought laughter and warmth to those around him. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching television, woodworking, gardening, and fishing during his younger years. Whether sharing a story or lending a listening ear, Donald had a way of making people feel at home.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Dusty Lingard; his siblings Darrel Poor (wife Yolanda), Dean Pate (wife Debra), Diane Lobert (husband Thomas), Duane Poor (husband Scott), and Donna Barideaux (husband Lawrence); as well as numerous grandchildren, including Alexandra Sumpter, Amber Woodard, nieces, and nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his godson, Jonathan Barideaux, who was especially near and dear to his heart.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings David Poor Jr., Douglas Poor, Doyle Poor, and Daniel Poor; and his cherished fur baby, Biscuit.
Donald “Zito” Poor will be remembered for his love of family, his storytelling spirit, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the memories shared by those who loved him dearly.
