Donnell Jomar Sterling, 52, affectionately called “Donnie” passed away October 4, 2024. He was born on August 21, 1972, in San Antonio, Texas to Kenneth Chase and Stephanie Sterling. Donnell loved people and making them laugh. A social butterfly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Donnell attended traditional school in San Antonio. He was a graduate of Judson High School and went on to join the United States Army. Donnell worked for many years as a cook at Good Time Charlie’s where he honed his cooking skills. Donnell loved to collect jerseys of several teams, but like a true Texan, his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. Above everything, he absolutely loved his children, his mother, sister, and spending time with his pet, Brownie.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Chase, wife, Samarra Sterling and his stepfather, Ronald Davis.

Donnell is survived by his mother, Stephanie Sterling-Davis; children, Marquees (Ashley) Sterling, Maquisha Sterling, Maurice Sterling, Monisha Sterling and Marquel Sterling; step-son, Javon Williams; grandchildren, D’Kaidence Sterling, Perris Jai’C Woods, Malaya Sterling, Mylina Sterling, Se’Vyn Sterling; beloved sister, Dr. Bridgett Sterling; his niece’s LaDestanie Sterling and Satoria Ray, and nephew, Darion Ray, his best friend and pet- companion, Brownie; along with his extended family and friends.
