Dorothy L. Straughn

Dorothy L. Straughn age 95, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Dorothy was born in San Antonio, Texas February 12, 1929 to the late Jeanette Harlan Rodriguez and William Rodriguez.

Affectionally known as “Dot” or “GG” she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed dancing and hosting parties. Dot was also very meticulous about her home; she maintained a magazine picture perfect home. Her devotion to God and community led her to volunteer with Cornerstone Church woman’s ministry and Summit Church. Dot was a member of the “Red Hats”, always uplifting and positively motivating woman.

Nevertheless, her favorite time was spending time with her grandchildren eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts or any sweets.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie R. Straughn.

Dot will be dearly missed by her children, Debroah Posey (John), Betty Hernandez (Victor), Janet Perales and Curtis Glenn; her 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings; Carl Rodriguez, Emma Siller and Norman Rodriguez

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:00am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
