Elroy Shular

On July 29, 1933 a handsome baby boy was born to Pauline and Collins Shular, they named him Elroy. From his humble beginning, Elroy took pride in helping his father and siblings farm their land in addition to attending school in Gillett, Texas. Elroy accepted the Lord at an early age and was baptized in Lone Star Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant and eventually obtaining the title of "Deacon". Elroy enjoyed to Bar-B-Que and would rather read his "Bible" instead of watching T.V. In 1954, Elroy married the love of his life, Clarice Goode. Even though Elroy and Clarice Shular never had any children, they celebrated 51 wonderful yrs. Clarice preceded Elroy in death. Elroy worked for and retired from Karnes County School District as a Custodian and in addition, devoted over 20+ yrs working part-time for Mr. Cook & Mrs. Kathy Patton, Karnes City Veterinary Hospital. On March 22, 2015, God in his infinite wisdom plucked another beautiful flower (Elroy) from his earthly garden to forever dwell in his heavenly garden. "We love and miss you, Elroy, God bless, and rest in peace." Preceding him in death his parents, twin brother Leroy Shular, Will (Pete) Shular, Daniel W. Shular, Sr., Robert L. Shular, Sr., Jimmie Applewhite, & sister Willie Mae Applewhite. Elroy leaves to cherish his memory; brothers, Collins (C.L.) Shular (Jerlean), San Antonio, Tx, T.V. Shular, Karnes City, Tx, Louis Shular (Joyce), Antioch, CA & sister Lena Mae Foreman, San Antonio, Tx an extremely large host of relatives, abundance of friends, numerous acquaintances, associates, & neighbors. 2 TIMOTHY 4: V7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
