Flora Jean Smith Willette, devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt entered into eternal rest, peacefully, Wednesday, January 24, 2018, following a lengthy illness. She is survived by her loving children: Sylvia Sedberry, Converse, TX; Rhonda Gresham (son-in-law, Joshwa), Wichita Falls, TX and son, Rodney Canada, Austin, TX. Ms. Willette was born November 23, 1944 in Crockett, TX to the late Hosea and Mable Smith, Wichita Falls, TX. Along with her parents, Ms. Willette is preceded in death by her sisters Beckie Smith Sherman, Wichita Falls, TX and Emma Walker, Anchorage, AK. Ms. Willette accepted Christ at an early age in the Church of God in Christ. She was very active as a stellar Sunday school student. Also, she sung in the choir, participated in youth group programs as well as other church related activities.Ms. Willette is a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Wichita Falls, TX. Ms. Willette retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Co. where her employment was exemplary. Afterward, she began residing with her daughter Sylvia and family in Colorado Springs, CO and in Converse, TX. Along with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, Ms. Willette leaves to rejoice in her precious memory sisters, Rebecca Jordan and Carole Smith, Anchorage, Alaska, Fannie Harpole, Portland, Oregon, Tina Reed, Dallas, TX, and Lovie Prosser, Fort Worth, TX; She also leaves a host of supportive nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends, neighbors and close classmates.
