Frank M. Castillo was promoted to glory in his home in the presence of his loving family on October 16, 2010. Frank was born in San Antonio on December 5, 1929 to the late Frank R. and Eleanor M. Castillo. He graduated from Crystal City High School in 1949 and joined the Army in 1950 serving in Panama. Frank retired from Kelly AFB in 1989 with 35 years of service at the "Palace," B-1650 as a Postal Officer. After retirement he became an active member in the Salvation Army Citadel where he served as Treasurer of the Men's Club. He was also a member of the Peacock Nutrition Center and volunteered with the League of Mercy. He was a loving husband, father and devoted grandfather. He was always ready and willing to take his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to school, music lessons, concerts, and tournaments. Frank was well known and liked especially for his sense of humor at Fenwick Elementary School and throughout his community. He enjoyed golf, coaching volleyball and was an avid Spurs and Cowboys fan. Frank is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nora V. Castillo, their children, Karen Marie Silva, Celia Annette Castillo and Frank V. Castillo; grandchildren, Valerie S. Castillo, Janet Marie Silva, Matthew Steven Silva, Aaron James Roesser, Jonathan Charles Roesser, Christopher John Castillo, Michael James Castillo and Frankie Castillo; great-grandchildren, Lorraine Silva, Raymond Joseph Silva, Andrew Castillo III and Jacob Matthew Silva; sisters, Gloria Castillo Diaz and Mary Helen Montgomery and husband, Earl; brother, Ralph Castillo and wife, Rachel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
