Helen E. Voorhies

Helen Barnett Thompson Voorhies Helen Barnett Thompson Voorhies, born in Dayton, OH died at 88 on June _ 2011 from Alzheimer's. She lived most of her life in Indianapolis IN, and was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School. After raising her family, Helen retired from the Veterans Administration as Assistant Director of the VA Hospital in Boston, MA to marry Albert E. Thompson where they were involved in real estate and insurance sales. An active person, she was a member of Eastern Star, a Life Master of Duplicate Bridge and enjoyed golf, tennis and dancing. Helen was one of 12 children and was the power and strength of the family. One of 12 children, Helen is survived by 7 siblings, 2 children son, James Scott Barnett, and daughter, Lynne Barnett Dailey, 3 grandchildren, Jeff, Julie and Jason and grand cats Bogey and Sheba. The family offers thanks to Vitas, caregivers at Clairebridge and Brookdale Senior Living. A tribute will be schedule in Indianapolis, IN the near future, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association are requested.
