Born in: Waelder , Texas
Resided in: San Antonio , Texas

Jacinto Martinez, age 71 went to be with our Creator Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Affectionally known by his nickname “Hoss”, he was a graduate of G.W. Brackenridge High School class of 1971. At Brackenridge, Hoss played with the 1970 basketball team who made it to the Regional finals. He was proud of the state patch he had earned on his letterman jacket. He was a “Legend in his own mind”, as he loved to say, and later, many called him Mr. Brackenridge because of his loyalty to Brack. Hoss’s legacy continued with his children and several grandchildren attending his Alma Mater. He attended every game and supported his children and grandchildren in the many extracurriculars they took part in. After graduating high school,
he served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his return he joined the IBEW local #60 as a Journeyman Electrician for over 37 years. His infectious personality drew many different people from many walks of life. His favorite time of the year was “Fiesta” where he loved to celebrate surrounded by his loved ones. He loved to dance, eat and enjoy music. Hoss was an avid San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys, and Yankees fan. He enjoyed all sports and attending the Missions “Flying Chanclas” games. Going to the annual Surf Cats fishing tournament, down in Corpus Christi was always a fun adventure. Hoss is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geralyn Martinez; his loving family, Jeannine Barron, Greg
Martinez (Griselda Martinez), Akasia Almendarez, Jennifer Cantu, Xochitl Barron, Christopher Gregory Barron, Israel Martinez, Galilea Martinez, 3 sisters and 4 brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom he loved dearly
